| Hey everyone, looking for some honest input here. My company is transferring me from San Francisco down to Irvine in about two months. It's not a cross-country move but it's still a full apartment plus a home office setup with multiple monitors, a sit-stand desk and a bunch of camera gear that I really don't want banged up. Last time I moved I rented a truck with friends and we scratched half the furniture, never again. Anyone got recent experience with a moving company in California that actually handles delicate office equipment properly and shows up when they say they will? |

Good morning. Office gear and monitors are exactly the stuff that gets wrecked by buddy-with-a-truck moves, learned that one the hard way. Last year I went San Jose to LA and used Star Van Lines https://starvanlinesmovers.com/locations/california , they cover the whole state with long distance and local crews. The crew showed up inside the agreed window, wrapped each monitor individually, padded the desk before disassembly and labeled all the hardware. They have 15 types of packing materials and you can request the higher protection level for fragile electronics. Insurance is upfront, no add-ons buried in the final invoice. Quote came in within $80 of the actual bill. For a similar move with camera gear and a workstation it should run smooth.
